Art Creations Friday

This little girl was the supplied image to create with on Art Creations Friday; she is from Lisa's Altered Art.
I remembered the fence picture that Randy took at the Tulip Festival in LaConnor, Washington, as well as all the beautiful tulip pictures, and thought she could sit comfortably on it. There are miles and miles of tulips, it is really worth visiting if you are ever in the Northwest corner of the USA, very impressive.
I added the little bird and crown also from Lisa's Altered Art. Not sure where I got the butterfly and the stamped expression is one from a friend so not sure about that either.
Have a great day! Cheers

TMTA - Girls with Dolls

The theme on Think Monday - Think ATC is 'Girls with Dolls.' I have always loved dolls; my first one was Susie, a soft stuffed body doll that I just loved. I lost Susie one summer when I was about three, and I was devastated. Months later my dad found her under our front steps. He gave her to my grandmother who cleaned her up and made a new outfit for Susie and she gave her to me on Christmas day. That was a most memorable day, I remember hugging Susie and being so happy to have her back; it was the best Christmas gift.

Saturday's Workout - bubble wrap

The challenge on SaWo this week is backgrounds with bubble wrap. I love bubble wrap as a background. I start with a base of two colours and lots of bubble wrap stamping and build from there. Often by the time the background is finished you cannot even see that there was bubble wrap used, such was the case with this piece, so I added a few on top. Distress inks, stamps from Tim Holtz and Stampington. Cheers!

TGIF - It's Magic

The TGIF challenge this week is Magic. My husband recently came across his old stamp collection book and passed it on to me. When I was trying to find a place to keep it I flipped it open and saw this stamp. This was a Christmas stamp from 1985, the Santa Claus parade. What could be more magical than Cinderella's coach? Although it looks like Captain Hook has hitched a ride, not sure if that's a good thing - watch out Cinderelly!! Cheers!

Three Muses - Pockets

Fill your pockets with friendship and you fill your heart with love. Cheers!
Three Muses challenge this week is Pockets.

Tag Challenge #16 - Grid Tag

Louise at Kard Krazy challenged us to make a grid tag this week for Tag Challenge #16. The stamps are from Stampington and this was part of a masterboard that I had not been too happy with, so it was just waiting in the bin for the right inspiration! I have disciplined myself to throw away very few of my creations that I am not happy with at the time because sooner or later they get a new lease on life - love it when that happens. Cheers!

Ready-Steady-STAMP! Challenge 5

The challenge on Ready-Steady-STAMP! is to use the five prescribed elements on your piece. For the PVA resist I used paper glaze and mixed it with resist inks. This was quite a challenge for me, I am a mess with glues and this proved to be a real "Lucy" event with this technique - I had glue and ink on everything!! However, the resist is very effective once you put inks on top of it you get the real idea of it. For the lace element I used a piece of lace as a mask for the background. Now to clean up the mess...Cheers!

Saturday Workout - Zentangle

The challenge this week on Saturday's Workout is Zentangle. I think Zentangle is like harmonious doodling. My first attempt looks like I've had far too much coffee this morning...I got a bit carried away and kind of lost my main image, not enough white space I think. Anyway it was certainly a workout! Cheers!

Tag It On - Up, Up and Away

The Tag It On Challenge #19 is "Up, Up and Away..." It is just about the start of the rainy season in Vancouver, and that season lasts about ten months, so thoughts of umbrellas and escapes are on the horizon. It is lovely here today though; hope there is sunshine and no thoughts of umbrellas where you are. Cheers!

Kard Krazy Tag Challenge #15

Challenge Four on Ready...Steady...Stamp is to use the five specific ingredients to create a piece. Ingredients this week were: 1. Letter A 2. Brown, cream and white 3. "rain drops" (dew drops) 4. Scalloped circle 5. Canvas

I painted the small canvas with brown, cream and white acrylic paint. Used gesso to apply some bits of a map and some stamped images from Tim Holtz. Stamped onto the canvas with brown ink. Applied some dew drops.

I hope all your wanderings take you in a creative direction. Cheers!
