The Eyes Have It

The challenge on Think Monday - Think ATC is "Look Into a Face." Beautiful challenge, open to many interpretations. I love this face and I think her mystery and power are in her eyes.

Saturday Surprise - Butterfly

Friday I pulled an alcohol ink background out of my box that had been in there for probably three years. I stamped some butterflies from Quietfire Design onto it but didn't really like how they worked, the silver on the background makes the ink move. So again, it got tossed to the side; but I didn't put the set away. Yesterday when I came into the craft room I saw a little piece of the same paper that didn't have as much silver on it and decided to stamp a twinchie size with Midnight Blue Stazon ink. I thought I would just put the twinchie in my project box for some future thing but after mounting it, I put it on top of the cast off piece and decided it could work. Voila, a card. Then I was totally surprised ( no pun intended) when I saw the theme on Saturday Surprise was Butterflies! Serendipitous (is this a real word? not sure but it sounds good!) I'd say. Cheers!

TGIF No. 91 - Alphabet

The challenge at TGIF yesterday was alphabet. The zebra stamp jumped out of my stamp drawer again and the letter Z seemed liked a good to place to start. There aren't too many words that start with Z but I managed to work in the zippers and zigzag! Cheers.

Journey - Art Creations Friday

This is the image to be used in the Art Creations Friday Challenge 32. I printed the image, cut it out, added an image of a steamer trunk and a bit of stamping in the background. The word "Journey," is from Quietfire Designs. The Eiffel Tower is from Stampers' Sampler and the border is Stampers Anonymous. Cheers!

Take Time to Smell the Roses

The Tag Tuesday Challenge #6 was "Time". This is my "better late than never" post for that challenge. The saying is from Quietfire Designs, it is an old Chinese proverb. The clipart is also from Quietfire. The clock face is Stampin'Up and the roses background is from Lazarworks.

Hope you are having a great Friday and that you take time to smell the roses!

Tag It On - Eternal Goddess

The challenge on Tag It On Wednesday was Eternal Goddess.

Three Muses - Wild Thing

This is a 1990 Canadian postage stamp. This is the Ogopogo, a legendary creature purported to live in Okanagan Lake in British Columbia. Sightings of the beast date back to 1860.
The challenge on Three Muses yesterday was Wild Thing, I think the Ogopogo qualifies!

I scanned the stamp and printed the image to use as my clipart. I created the background for my piece with inks, crayons and glimmer mist. I added a bit of stamping to the background and a Tim Holtz quote.

Cheers!

Art Creations Friday - background challenge

The challenge at Art Creations Friday was to use the provided background to create a piece of "art." Art is a bit of a stretch when looking at this crazy piece, not sure what possessed me, however the muse was in a wacky mood this morning is all I can say! The expression is from Quietfire Designs. Have a great day!

Cheers!

A birthday card for a friend, he is turning 57 and feeling old! Thought I would tease him about it with this card, he is a good sport. For the background, I used the music stamp from the set of Crow stamps from Quietfire Design. I also stamped over it with bubble wrap. The crown and crown from Quietfire also.

Tuesday, June 9, 2009

The background is stamped with several mini stamps from Quietfire Design and Old World Globe from River City Rubber Works.

I made this for my niece, Ashley, she was off to England on an exchange trip.

Cheers!

A quick birthday card put together with designer paper from Stampin'Up! The horizontal strip I randomly stamped with celery ink. Love the quick and simple. Enjoy!

I love this sentiment from Quietfire Design, it appeals to the inner daydreamer in me. The weeds are from Autumn Leaves. Thanks to Michelle Zindorf for her inspiration here; I wonder if her fingers are as blue as mine? Keep dreaming!
Cheers, rhondooni

Attempt Number 2!

As I was saying, not very adept at this! Oh well, even if the entry is in two parts, it's not too hard to figure out. Wishing you happiness always!

Happiness always

This card was made using the emboss resist method, one of my favourites. The fern, bee and sentiment are Stampin' Up! and the dandelion is from Old Island Stamp Co.

My new blog!

This is my first attempt at setting up a blog. I am not very techno-savvy, so this has been a bit of a process to say the least. I love the description on How To Create A Blog - very easy for the beginner, it will only take 10 minutes. What comes before beginner? Ten minutes, how about ten hours...Yikes! Anyway, I will persevere and see if I can actually get some of my cards uploaded. Feel free to check back later, this could take awhile! Cheers, have a great day.
